I attempt to cook occasionally. These have been verified to taste good by people who still have taste buds. Give them a try!

Low-carb Protein Bars

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine:
    • 4 scoops protein powder
    • 1/3 cup almond meal flour
    • 1/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
    • 2 TBSP wheat germ
    • sprinkle of raw oats
  3. Add 5 egg whites and 1 whole egg to the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir until mixed. Don’t beat the stuff to death.
  5. Line a small baking pan with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray. Pour in the protein mixture.
  6. Clean the mixing bowl before the stuff dries and turns harder than an Atlas stone.
  7. Bake at 275 degrees for 30-40 minutes, until the top is firm.
  8. You have to flip the thing or it won’t cook evenly. Good luck. Don’t worry if a little sticks to the parchment paper - it will come off once it’s cooked through.
  9. Cook for another 15 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven, let cool, slice into squares.

Makes 6 protein bars. Per bar: 25g protein, 9g fat, 5g carbs.

have you estimated the calorie content in a batch?

Hey, Bob, 1 bar is about 200 calories, so figure around 1200 for an entire batch.
